I tried updating my forum profile to set my preferred timezone, my geographic location, my avatar, etc, but none of the changes ever stick.
When I click on 'Submit' I see the message 'Your profile has been updated.' But when I look at my forum profile again, nothing has changed. The problem is reproducible on a desktop PC using Firefox and IE, and also on an Android 5.0 phone with Chrome. I tried different physical locations with the phone and tried both HTTP and HTTPS, but no joy. This has been happening to me for a couple days now, so it is not a transient database problem. |

Now that I've made my first post, it is suddenly working. (Wasn't working 5 minutes ago.)
So is the rule that you must post at least once before you can modify your user profile? |

Not that I know of. It might have been some weird quirk of caching...

Just had some time to look at this. Indeed it turns out there was a bug where you had to post at least once before you could modify your user profile. But it's fixed now.
