I was expecting this since Kodansha USA licensed the manga. The short advertisement animation it got from studio Hibari actually looked pretty good, so maybe the TV anime will also be done by them. I haven't read the manga yet, but it's been on my "want to read soon list".

This is amazing news! The manga is a rare treat and I'm still excited that it's coming out here in the US; an anime has the potential to be mind-blowingly good... just imagine if they got Yuasa to direct it!

I'm so happy!
Do we know what studio is making it yet?

Nope, but it sure does fit in Shaft's style imo.

I have a feeling people are going to be making a lot of Steven Universe comparisons. This does seem interesting and I'll definitely check it out when it begins airing.

I just remembered these gems are genderless, but some look like girls whereas others look like boys.

It really depends on what outfits they wear

I've been waiting for this for forever. Nice to see the little known manga I've been reading get animated. Hoping for Shaft and/or Yuasa, or better yet, Rie Matsumoto.

Admittedly, my love for Steven Universe is making me want to check out this series, and I hope to pick up the first volume once it's released.

I'll be sure to check out the anime once it's released as well! I hope it's every bit as beautiful as the PV!

It makes me wonder what the official translators will do with the pronouns in order to keep it consistent.

They probably won't have to. They might just use the characters names to cover it up. Confused
