Honestly, I'm not surprised by these statistics. If I want info on sex/sexuality I sure the heck wouldn't go look it up on Wiki first. While Wiki is good for a lot of things, 100% accurate information isn't one that pops to mind
 If I was looking for this type of information I'd be using regular Google to find sites that look to be more direct and up-to-date on the subject.

It doesn't surprise me at all that over a quarter of the most popular searches are about anime. I generally use Wiki for episode lists and figuring out where story arcs start and end. It's also handy for looking up a character's full name and general biography.
My continual trips to Wiki for the episode lists of Naruto, One Piece, and Prince of Tennis might be inflating that count.
