any clue when they are releasing issue 8, or if they are releasing anymore at all? the Viz site has no info.

Volume 7 was released here a while back. I don't think volume 8 is finished yet in japan.

Im pretty sure Volume 8 came out in Japan during the summer. I read that it was released the same time to celebrate the release of Renewel of Evangelion.
Is volume 8 suppose to be the last volume? |

Yoshiyuki Sadamoto is probably being sidelined with several other projects. He is not exclusively a manga artist, and must take time out to do character designs for other anime projects when called upon. This Evangelion manga does not take priority over those jobs.

that's fine with me, just was a little worried they stopped since I haven't seen a new one in a long time. *sigh of relief* , though I wish the translators (glaring at you viz) wouldn't have made Toji sound like a retard ... though they say he is from Osaka, maybe an accent from there is equivalent to 'gangster' or 'street talk' here?

Volume 8 was released last year in December. If there is to be a volume 9, it should be out in Japan either this month or next, supposing they stick to schedule....
