I've only been to one con, and didn't get the smell treatment luckily.

However the wall of hot air sent me flying back into a sandwich shop.

These comics have been getting better and better Very Happy

Actually, smells have never bothered me as much as heat has. (Although last AnimeIowa's AC was working marvelously.) Then again, I hardly ever go into the game room either. I don't see the point in spending my time at cons doing what I can do at home. Rolling Eyes

Another funk danger zone that has to be mentioned is the tabletop gaming room. In those rooms you don't have the physical exhaustion factor that drives people out of videogame rooms, and once people get games started, they can stay there for a long, long time. I don't go to con video game rooms much, and I go to tabletop game rooms even less, but just sticking your head in for a moment is enough to give you the "experience." Actually, I think the longest time I ever spent in a video game room was at Otaku Omaha this past year, and that's because a bunch of us (including most of the con staff) took over the room at 2 AM Sunday morning to drink ourselves silly.

I smell an element of truth to this latest ANNina.

There's truth in every single one of them. Wink

Yup, that there is... But this is the first bit of truth that you can SMELL... Or at least recall the smell. Laughing

Wow! The comic has really gotten along well. It also demonstrates a basic survival technique in cons: don't rush into strange rooms. Stick a head in and sniff lightly first... Laughing

I would put it to you that the tabletop gaming room is far worse than any other room. The stereotypes of the stinky overweight tabletop gamer is well-deserved, alas. Sad

Hrm... it isn't that bad. Been to gaming rooms in all the anime conventions and they aren't that bad compared to E3.

It's good to see Myoopi again...yummy poo~

These keep getting funnier. Though panel five cuold have done without the "noob" comment. I know exaclty how Nina feels. Everytime I walk into a videogame room at a con it's always the hottest, smellist, most disgusting room at the con. Doesn't anybody use deodorant anymore? Poor Nina.

The fact that Kevin was wearing a gas mask when he said "Noob" is funny because he isn't saying Noob because of the video game con, but as a way to say "Why would you go in there unprepared?!"

I know that was what the "noob" reference was saying. But that was kinda what I found unfunny about it. Personally I feel saying "noob" is like saying some poorly written and needless pun. You either get a cheap laugh out of someone, or falepalm. I just think they could've gotten the joke across better with out the "noob" word. Here you have this cleverly written comment about how VG rooms smell, then you get..."noob".

Also I just feel the word "noob" is lame. Wink

You know what I love? People completely overanalyzing a stupid joke.

Many do actually(or similar things), among stuff like febreaze. However, those things only can do so much on their own.
