How come in all the animes I've seen so far, girls have been the same thing throughout them. They are helpless, whiney, and usually end up getting on everyone's nerves (ex: Misty from Pokemon)! Everytime they need a guy to come save them (nothing against guys). What's the deal here?! I haven't seen an anime where the main character's a girl! It's always guys (nothing against guys again). Take Trigun, Gundam Wing, Pilot Canidate (not sure if that's the EXACT title), even Cowboy Bebop. All of these girls are CONSTANTLY saved by the guys in the series. Why can't the girls save the guys in the series once in a while?

Try Lupin, City Hunter, or Cutey Honey. And I guess Sailor Moon and Utena.

Oh, and Dirty Pair, Gunsmith Cats, and Bubblegum Crisis. (And I guess Nuku Nuku...)

LOL

Cowboy Bebop - if Faye is the helpless girls then I dont want to meet the independent strong one Razz

Slayers - oh come on, Lina is practically one of the strongest sorcerres in the world.

Utena - girl power Razz

Ayanes High Kick - about a girl practicing kick-boxing

Azumanga Daioh - all the main characters are girls and, beside Chiyo-chan, can take care of themselves

Battle Angel Alita - she could save you anytime Wink

Blood - well... Saya is a vampire but she is still the female Razz

DNA2 - Karen; little in the clouds sometimes but also a very strong character..

Arjuna - ekhem; she saves the world Smile

FLCL - who is the master? Razz

Golden Boy - Kintaro meets many women, most of them were incredible and certainly didn't need protection.

Mahoromatic - who needs whose help here??

Lain - no comment Wink

The only anime I've seen that you listed was Cowboy Bebop, I didn't get a chance to catch FLCL though.

I've seen Lupin and I didn't think of Gunsmith Cats at the time. And I didn't see Gunbuster either. Dude, I got a lot of anime I gotta see.

Yes, yes you do. So stop posting and start watching!!!

Battle Athletes - There's only like two male characters in the eniter show
Sailor Moon - doesn't get more girl power than Sailor Moon
Trigun - Milly and Meryl never need Vash's help.

Trust me there are plenty of anime females that can kick as much ass as the males. Some of them do get rescued every now and then, but at least they try to defend themselves i.e. Inuyasha. I don't have to list 'em all off since everybody else has.

Haruko is TEH master. Cool

ee.... wrong?
for example in the first episode he saves them from the Big Mohawk Guy (he shoots the rope so they can escape)
He saves them from the mob controled by Legato
He saves them from the big woman in the episode with the Geo Plant
And I am sure there was more.... but I cant remember. Vash saves them all the time Smile
I haven't watched Trigun in ages..... I think I am gonna do it now Smile

X. Arashi, Karen, Satsuki, Kanoe...all strong female characters. Then there's Integra, and eventually Seras, in Hellsing. Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell (android, yes, but a female android...so...still valid?). Miyu & Himiko-se in Vampire Princess Miyu. Karen Joshua in Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team. Cima Garahau in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Christina McKenzie in Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. Dorothy Catalonia in Gundam Wing. Allenby Beardsley in Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Milia (I THINK that's her name) in SDF Macross. The three Aestivalis pilots (Izumi, Hikari, and particularly Ryoko) in Martian Successor Nadesico. Lafiel, Spoor, and that one Baron's sister (forget her name) in Crest/Banner of the Stars. Kikyou & Sango in Inu-Yasha. Robin Cena in Witch Hunter Robin. Angel, and I guess Dorothy, in Big O (another android, but...).

Just some off the top of my head that I wouldn't think to classifiy as "weak" or "helpless."
