More stuff for people to pirate then if no R1 release...
And they wonder why piracy exists...
Get rid of the region encoding... |

Heh, this is old news in the UK by this stage!
I'm rather looking forward to this movie, actually. I love Katsuhiro Otomo and I'm really enjoying Revelation's Mushi Shi releases, so this movie should be good, right? |

Well, it's not as though it wouldn't get pirated were it R1 originally. And, seriously, how many anime-related releases in the West come to anywhere other than the US first (official ones, I mean)?
Oh, and to put something actually on topic, I'm looking forward to this release. Should be interesting. |

Being a fan of the manga and anime, I would love to see this. I'm being cautiously optimistic about this UK release, perhaps if it sells well enough there, we'll see a wider release.

That's how I see it, unfortunately however the reviews I've seen were mixed. Fans of the source material were generally more favorable towards it, but it sounds like the film deviates a considerable amount. |

It's in English...If there's a show I want to see and it's only got an R1 English release I'm told by everyone and his dog to import it and get a multi region DVD player. Why should it be any different for you or anyone else? (to be fair the only show I've done this for is Stellvia...) |

Yay... we got in first!
Admitedly this isn't my kind of show, but I'll bet my brother would be VERY interested.

Dictionary.com? It's American, but it should suffice. Or subscribe to oed.com: a real online dictionary.
I'm thinking this isn't going to sell, as much as I want to see and buy it, your average consumer is never going to be aware of its existence. Still, pretty good... |

It'll do all right in the arthouse / world cinema market and that's who it's being aimed at, judging by the film company handling it. If a few anime fans happen to pick it up as well, that's just icing on the cake as far as the distributor is concerned. |

| Lucky for the folks in the UK. I've imported the R2 DVD and enjoyed the movie. But I really miss not having had a chance to see it on the big screen. (Or I may have missed it...don't know if it was shown at our local international film festival.) Watching it on a TV screen just doesn't do justice to this movie. |

Yay! I'm glad I live in the UK because after watching the trailers I just can't wait to waste my money on this. |

This makes me glad I live on the R2 side of the world.
Mushishi is one of the greatest mangas/anime series of recent times, and under the direction of the incomparable Otomo-sensei, it's right up my alley. Now if I can find the darn thing outside of the internet... |
