That's way too light of a sentence. Maybe he'll spend the rest of his life in a mental institution, where he belongs. |

At least he's serving some jail time, instead of getting off on an insanity plea. Like The Ramblin' Wreck said, maybe he'll go to a mental institution after his term is up.

I'm not sure about Japan, but in Canada and the United States, if you don't get off with an insanity plea and are given a prison sentence, it implies that the courts don't feal that you are insane. So if the courts don't think you're insane, they won't commit you after 14 years.
Chances are he'll be a free man in 14 years, earlier if the parole system in Japan is anything like the ones in Canada and the USA. -t |
