Just out of curiosity, has anyone besides me read Bari Bari Densetsu?
I've read the first 15 volumes so far, and I think I probably understand the story better than the average Japanese person...hahaha. It's very hard to find, being a fairly vague early 80's series that was vastly eclipsed in popularity by the author's next work (Initial D). I've never read the series, but thanks for mentioning it so I can add its manga and anime movie (in 1987) of it.
So Shigeno could draw cute girls back then... I can see that near the end of the series the art style had been gradually changed and more like Initial D; girls were not as cute as they used to be.

Could have sworn it was already in there... baribari densetsu.
Also called Bariden or Baribari Legend. The movie was just a redit of the OVAs, iirc, although I love the opening theme (and the opening sequence too)... it's actually a good watch if you can find it, although it's only a digest of the first ~12 volumes. |

The OVA was there, but not the manga and the (recap) movie. Just added. |
