ADV's still got those three [Full Metal Panic, Kaleido Star, & GANTZ], Chrno Crusade, Peacemaker, Zaion, and FF Unlimited.
Bandai's got Blue Sub 6.
TP's got Samurai Girl.
Viz has Saikano.

Everything else is either Funi or former Gen though.

Former Geneon would be Hellsing TV & Gatekeepers/21, but also:

Bandai: Meltylancer, Yukikaze
ADV: Gravion/Zwei

If they continue to license Geneon's mediocre crap, they'll go the way of Geneon in due time.

Not really! This is actually a good move in my eyes.

License rescues are far more cheaper than new ones, all of the materials are available (dubs, subs, production art, extras, ect....) and several people already own the product, which helps spread the word around.

Ikki Tousen and Gad Gaurd may not be Triple A titles, but they do have solid fanbases. I personally own and enjoyed both of them. They have their flaws, but they were still enjoyable to watch. Smile

Vandread is apparently the third titled announced, and this time it appears that its a distribution deal as Geneon is still listed on the page.

http://www.funimation.com/vandread/

Once I find a job I will probably pick this up

It says "Licensed by Funimation productions" on the bottom which none of the distribution deal titles say.

Wonder why it list Geneon then since Gad Guard just lists Gonzo and Funimation

Might be because they are using the Pioneer/Geneon dub for the release. It should be answered when the PR hits the wire.

Than Gad Guard should have Geneon listed as well.

I think I found the answer though, one of the prodcution companies for Second Stage was Dentsu which is Geneon's parent company.

Flower Mound, TX – December 24, 2008 – FUNimation® Entertainment today announced that it has acquired the home entertainment, digital, broadcast and merchandise rights to the 26-episode action-scifi anime series Vandread from GDH.

But interestingly, unlike the others, this one mentions:
Quote:

Originally released by Geneon Entertainment in 2002, FUNimation Entertainment will release the complete series on DVD in 2009.

3 license rescues of older Geneon titles. This is becoming increasingly not worth my time to tune in for.

I hope that the new titles are worth all the PR they are doing.

Well I'll just be happy when Eva 1.0 is announced. I'm not incredibly excited about any of the rescues but some of them look ok.
I would really love Toradora or even something a little older like Ashitezure Baby got licensed.

The website is up and running now. It will be available on may 26, 2009 with a way better price than the 7 dvd set which was around 150 to 250 dollars.
