New Orleans' Mysterious Pikachu Statue Raises US$2,000

The mysterious Pikachu statue that appeared in a New Orleans' park in August sold for US$2,000 at auction on last Sunday. The statue was briefly erected by unknown artists at an unused fountain in Coliseum Square before being donated for auction to raise funds benefiting the Coliseum Square Association.
The statue was ultimately sold by the Neal Auction Company for US$2,000 to a just as mysterious telephone bidder. Initial bids started at just a few hundred dollars. The association will use the money to get fountains at the square up and running again and improve green spaces in the park.
