Suzuko Mimori to Perform Yuki Yuna Is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter Theatrical Anime's Theme Song

posted on by Alex Mateo
Theme song will be Mimori's 7th single

Voice actress and singer Suzuko Mimori's concert series, "Mimori Suzuko Live Tour 2016 Grand Revue," announced on Thursday that Mimori will be performing the theme song for the upcoming second season of Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru. Mimori will specifically be performing the theme song for the theatrical version of the Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru: Washio Sumi no Shō part of the second season. The event also revealed that the song will be her seventh single and will ship on April 12, 2017.

Mimori voiced the character Mimori Tōgo in the first season of Yuki Yuna Is a Hero. She also sang the show's opening and ending theme songs with other members of the show's cast.

The 2017 anime will be a sequel to the Yuki Yuna Is a Hero television anime, and will also adapt author Takahiro and illustrator BUNBUN's illustrated novel series Washio Sumi wa Yūsha de Aru (Washio Sumi is a Hero).

The anime's first half (six episodes) will adapt Washio Sumi wa Yūsha de Aru and will be titled Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru: Washio Sumi no Shō (Yuki Yuna Is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter). This part of the anime will first have theatrical screenings in March 2017 before it airs on television. The second half of the anime is a direct sequel to the first season, and is titled Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru: Yūsha no Shō (Yuki Yuna Is a Hero: Hero Chapter).

Takahiro and BUNBUN launched the Washio Sumi wa Yūsha de Aru novel series in the June issue of Dengeki G's Magazine in 2014. A four-panel manga spinoff with a total of 30 chapters is available to read online for free.

The first anime's story takes place in the era of the gods, year 300. Yūna Yūki lives an ordinary life as a second year middle school student, but she's also a member of the "Hero Club," where club activities involve dealing with a mysterious being called "Vertex."

The 12-episode anime series premiered in October 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Ponycan USA released the anime in three Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo packs in North America in 2015.
