The Danboard computer glasses are available for pre-order on the online Yotsuba& store and the Tokyo Otaku Mode Premium Shop for 14,800 yen (about US$121). Tokyo Otaku Mode is listing the glasses for pre-order of US$148.99. The product will be shipped in February of next year.
The glasses are painted with a distinct beige color, characteristic of the average cardboard box. The ends of the glasses (along with the glasses and cleansing wipe) both feature the robotic face of the character printed on them. The robot's coinslot is depicted on the front of the frames,
Italian company Mazzucchelli provided the raw materials while artisans in Sabae, Japan crafted the glasses. Computer glasses are non-prescription and intended to block out harmful blue light from LCD screens and reducing eyestrain.
Previous Danboard merchandise includes a special battery charger released in August.
