More ticket sales for 2nd Kizumonogatari = Smoother progress for animation and development of the final film without the creators feeling forced to rely on the overseas markets to cover up any financial shortfall.

I don't think they need to worry about that. Monogatari is huge in Japan. Foreign markets have never been a factor in its profitability.

Might be worth noting Shin Godzilla is already the most successful Japanese Godzilla film. (the previous was Godzilla 2000, which it beat in its second week)
