Qwaser might actually be one of the most Underrated series out there. Most people see the synopsis and think it's just another Eccchi series but it honestly has some fantastic intrigue, character development and world building. It incorporates its themes well and really makes you questions allegiances of the cast.
If the anime (Specifically the second season) hadn't been just a fan service vehicle i think it really could have more respect. I mean the manga has some wild twist with how it ties into stuff around Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Catholicism, intrigue using the pope and the cardinals and them playing different groups for their own agendas, it's all really good but none of that really got shown off in the anime.

Reading the synopsis of that new series while knowing the type of content that usually gets published on Champion RED gives it a different ring.

End of an era. I have to finish the manga now since there won't be any more anime adaptations.

I loved the anime. It had some of the most badass moments in that year. Episode 1, Sasha on top of the church, forming his weapon for the first time while talking about fear: AWESOME. Sasha busting through the door just as Fumika was about to get killed: AWESOME. Sasha's iron sword chant: AWESOME.
Funny as hell too: walk in bathroom, girls in there: just dodge, express aprooval over breasts, then leave. Also: tsurupetan~....

One of the best anime/mangas. It will be missed.
Sasha is a example for all MCs.

Perhaps attaching thoughtful storytelling to such a fetishy core premise wasn't the best way to have people recognize writing talent after all.

yeah when i read this part of the anime description
Quote: | He is a Qwaser, a being who can manipulate iron and draws his power from breast milk. |
I was like ok... next lmao
but 24 volumes in 10 years wow thats alot and the author is even starting another series to boot.
Gonna put this on my: to binge read list.
I mean providing the series wasn't canceled i have some hope for it, I've nothing against raunchy harem fanservice series but very few can be entertaining without getting stale *cough*Fairy tail*cough*

People should know that the anime has WAY more fanserive then the manga does. And I think that did it a disservice. My only complaint about the manga is that sometimes the panels are too crowded and it's hard to figure out what's going on durng the action scenes. That's one thing the anime got right: the action scenes are great, and so is the music.

This is 1 of those manga that pushes even my tolerance for its content. That is, the loli dominatrix is a being a large reason.

Oh Seikon no Qwaser, you are the best anime that I can never recommend to any of my friends because you are this close to being porn. I even have a list of things that are forever ruined for me because of this anime. This list includes tengu masks, golden retrievers, exercise machines, tengu masks, love letters, bathrooms, boxes full of kittens and did I mention tengu masks.
On the positive aspects for the anime: the soundtrack is awesome, the fight scenes are really cool and some of the deviations from the source material are really good ( I thought Sasha's amnesia arc was way better than the brief chapter they gave it in the manga). The manga however is the better product as it has less ecchi elements and is a more coherent story.
There's a lot of attention to detail put into this series that you wouldn't expect to come out of this genre. Hell most of the chapters have me looking up scientific, historical and even biblical articles, so that I can learn more about the subjects that the manga uses as references. I'm generally surprised at how well the characters progress through out the series and I ended up liking most of them. If they ever decided to reprint the manga over here, I'd be all for supporting it.
