It is cringey as hell when all Re:Zero related news and articles are about Rem. Seem like the series fall as typical otaku fetish and wet dream rather than trying to be different.

But, you got to admit the focus on Rem is well earned. Most of the time, such attention is random and most of the time not justified.

It's like Rei or Asuka best girl movement. Rem or Emilia best girl movement is on the same level, which says something on it's own.

Also, if there is something that keeps the title alive and relevant is good attention, it gives more hope for a possible sequel.

The marketing has nothing to do with the story itself. lol

Kadokawa is unabashedly miking Rem with the otaku as hard possible. Personally as a fan of the series I find it annoying as hell too even if like her myself. It's ridiculous how none of the other characters get nearly the same kind of love merch-wise.
