The irony with Vegeta and Emosuke being the top 2. With that said...

Disappointed at the lack of Seto Kaiba. Fortunately this is about anime because if this were about manga, I would have wrote an essay on why he's my favorite rival all thanks to the brilliance of Kazuki Takahashi.

Considering you put Okido in the article, might as well correct you on this. It's Okido.

Dragon Ball Super brought back my love for Vegeta in full force so very happy he topped the poll.

I was never much of a fan of Sasuke but I can’t deny his popularity.

Edit: Actually I think the best Shounen rival is Akira Toya from Hikaru no Go. But I’ll always have a soft spot for Vegeta. Smile

I’d be upset if Vegeta and Sasuke weren’t occupying the top 2. Classic rivalries. Although I would switch some others from the remaining spots.

Glad to see Vegeta at #1. He deserves it.

I would figure Char would have a higher placing on this list.

Bakugo!!!! He's only at #4 but still. Happy he gets the attention he deserves. One of the best developped rival out there.

I'm actually quite surprised Bakugo got as high as he did. Then again, he was #1 on the character popularity poll for MHA. Just goes to show that the series itself is gaining.

Shinji is a better rival than Shigeru.

And where's Kaiba? He held an entire tournament to beat his rival. And then there's DSOD.

Welp, no matter what everyone say, Dio should be #1.

I was hoping to see Rukawa Kaede from Slam Dunk. But oh well. It is an old series after all.

Would Ruki Makino/Rika Nonaka count as a rival character? Because that would be my choice.

Captain Tsubasa is probably older, yet Hyuga was in the list.

Also, I?m glad people remember Hyuga from CT. Hot-blooded as heck.

... That's strange I thought he started the tournament with the intent of selfishly collecting all the god cards with dueling Yugi being an added bonus.

For those of us oldsters, I would have picked either Vicious from Cowboy Bebop or Knives from Trigun.
