I've never heard of those novels before (and I suspect this is true of almost all westerners), but I'm excited for anything Oshii does.
(Also, looks like ANN is still saying that Oshii "recently" worked in live-action even though he's worked in live-action for basically his entire career. But who needs research for journalism, right?)

Thank you very much for pointing that out. We've changed the language in the article to represent that not all his live-action projects are recent.

Aw, thanks, though now I feel a bit bad for giving you guys a hard time over it; I'd seen the same mistake come up in previous articles, so I got a bit annoyed.

We really do always appreciate it when readers point out errors. If you commented on a previous article about this, we should have noticed. Our staff try to go through all comments to articles to catch when readers point out errors, but we unfortunately don't always get through every comment. But we do listen and definitely want to make corrections when any errors are noticed. You can always reach out to us at newsroom [at] animenewsnetwork [dot] com in the future if you see something you think should be corrected, we're definitely sure to see it that way.

IDK, hiring Oshii is a lot like hiring M. Night Shyamalan if his recent works are an example of what to expect.

Never heard of the series. Well, since it is an animated film, I'm expecting CG.
