Man, GKIDS got all three films of "the water trilogy". Can't say I'm surprised, looks like they're picking everything up nowadays.

Honestly this looks like one of Yuasa's less intresting films to me, mostly because I like him due to the very wierd and always different style. And while this film *definitely* looks different from everything else he's done it looks a bit to like generic anime for me to be super excited about it. Still going to buy it on Blu-Ray though, Yuasa hasn't let me down yet.

I'm going to have to 100% disagree with you here. In no way does this just look generic to me, the trailers show a lot of his more uniquely weird aspects. The main male becoming water and how the main female deals with having a relationship with him from that point forward, followed by all of the crazy shenanigans that happen along with that. I'm definitely pumped for this.

You're right, I should've been more careful with my words. What I meant was that it felt a bit more generic in artstlye compared to a lot of Yuasa's other stuff like Mind Game, Kemonozume, or Kaiba. Compared to the average anime movie it still looks very fresh and different and the water effects definitely look like the coolest part of the film with how they distort peoples bodies and faces. Kinda feels like a bit of an evolution of Lu which also really liked playing with the way water works.

Who knows, Yuasa and co. have surprised me before with how unique and original their works are, they may do it yet again with this.
