Technically Destiny (and 2), Rebirth, The Abyss, Innocence, Hearts, and Graces are just under half the series, so if anything they're just balancing the names out again.

I'm still not so sure about this. "think differently" and "a new beginning" together with the initial announcement and the statement to focus more on the western audience (which sounds ridiculous if it's coming from Tales of) really leaves a bad aftertaste.
I hope I'm thinking too much of it, but I would be careful with Arise.

I haven't been excited about a Tales of game in probably forever. I liked Zestira well enough but the games to me just haven't been good since Abyss and Vesperia and I've been playing them since Tales of Destiny when I was a child (Which I kind of want to replay now that I'm sitting here thinking about it).

Arise has just really grabbed my attention. I absolutely love the character design choices, and the combat in the trailer looks pretty great.

I'm curious if we are going to have more party member characters or if it's just the two we've been shown so far.

tales of zestiria - absolutely god awful; tales of berseria - was pretty amazing.

i don't know, after getting my fingers burnt with zestiria, i may wait for discounts. if they made another good game after berseria then maybe i can start looking forward to "tales of" games again

See, I liked Zestira better but I also played it before Berseria and I liked the core cast more. I feel like prequel games should come before the sequels, and I find myself never liking the prequels as much when they come after.

Unless I missed a game though this is the first one to come out since Berseria so I guess we'll see how it holds up.
