I just watched this and while I already knew of the limited-animation style, I somehow totally did not noticed the lack of 3DCG, wow. I agree that this style really suits the aesthetic of the series.
A delightful bunch of shorts, but I'm sad that this is likely all we're going to get of this series.

My wife and I watched it and we didn't even realize the limited animation style or that it was in 2D and not 3D LOL. We were enjoying it that much. Yes, the gyoza of fairy is the best thing ever. My wife being Japanese obviously had to make gyoza for dinner the next night so that was awesome too!

Nikaido and the tea shop owner: wow, this world is amoral. It’s weird how this gross, ultra violent series brings out the shipper in me. By the end of season 1, I was even shipping Fujita and Ebisu, but this OVA puts forth a good argument to keep them separate. The first story made me feel sorry for Fujita, but the way he teased Ebisu at the dance, he deserved being poked in the tush. Shin/Noi ship full steam ahead, though! 
The gyoza fairy sleeping on rats was “aw” and “ew” in a very Dorohedoro way. I really, really want a second season! Maybe someday, a Devil will grant this wish |
