Ehhh, this season is...okay. I can understand wanting to make a more light-hearted comedy season after the more emotionally charged Healin Good, especially during a pandemic, but Tropical Rouge doesn't really have much in the way of stakes or even substantial conflict so far. I'm sure this'll improve later on, but parts of it feel kind of hollow. Plus, Manatsu always acts like she's had way too much caffeine. But I do really like Sango, Minori, and Asuka, with Minori being my favorite, and I'm interested in learning more about those three in particular. But so far, I don't think it's as good as Healin Good was. I do like it more than Mahou Tsukai Precure so far, though!

Glad the show is what it is. Not every show needs some intense conflict, or an intricate plot. Sometimes a slice-of-life show about magical girls having fun is okay.

I actually don't mind a light-hearted season especially since last year's hits WAY TOO CLOSE to reality in the most unintentionally way. It helps that I do like all of the main cast especially Laura and her garbage personality. Laughing

I do worry that since the villains are more comedic, lazy goofballs, there's going to be a weird dissonance later in the series where the stakes really do matter, and they actually take their evil villain roles seriously. It's a similar problem I had say with Power Rangers Turbo (among other things) and Ninja Storm where they had comedic villains. But hey, since they are lazy, it makes a perfect excuse of why they only attack once every week. Surprised

I stopped watching Precure years ago and just started watching this current version and it seems to me that there is little (if any) tension of any sort-emotional etc. all. It seems like the show is trying for a low stakes feel good approach. I sure hope the producers and writers start ramping things up a considerable amount.

I'm hoping this is one of the seasons where the villains mostly or all end up not remaining villains, they're all pretty fun and laid back (except maybe the butler, he seems like secret final boss potential). Once they realize that Manatsu is a renewable energy source there shouldn't be any reason for further conflict, right? Wink

I agree about the fact Famingo looks more like a Parrot. Ignoring a Flamingo is pink and Asuka is red, I can say Parrot or maybe Guacamaya is better for a name. And still fits the "tropical" theme of this season.
