Part of me wants it to continue. Like if he wrote down a blueprint on where to take the series and where to end it. But it wouldnt be the same.

The Struggle is infinite.

I'm not sure how I feel about the prospect of continuing. Calling it the "latest" chapter seems deliberate, as in the publisher hasn't decided yet what to do. I'm not surprised that there is at least one more chapter since it seemed likely that there was at least one more chapter that was at a point where the assistants would be able to finish it, and I could see where they might not have thought just stopping was a proper send off.

It's anybody's guess if there was enough there for somebody to pick up Miura's work, and I was already willing to accept that Berserk would be incomplete. As much as it might be nice to see it get to a conclusion, there would almost always be second-guessing on whether it went how Miura would have wanted. That certainly would make things tough on anyone if they did continue it.

He might have had a complete outline of the rest of the story finished and discussed it in detail with his assistants? Much the way Wheel of Time ended..?

What do we know about Miura's writing process? Was he the sort of writer who outlined his long-term plans in advance? If so, and he had documents that said how the story would continue, then I think it would be fine to publish a summary of those so fans could at least see how the story was meant to end.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the idea of just letting another manga creator complete the story, especially if there isn't a story blueprint to go off of. Some things are just better left unfinished. I don't suppose Miura left instructions on what to do about the story in the event of his passing. He was relatively young and I doubt such things were on his mind.

I have no doubt that author had already an outline of how the story will end, this series has been running for 3 decades, i am sure he told a few people how it would of ended and a general outline of the direction.

The issue is weather they should continue it or if they can have the capacity to complete it. I think at the very least if they dont pursue it they can release a statement of the general outline of how it would of went. to give some fans a bit of closure especially for those that have been following it from the begging.

Well we shall see.

I dont know, but those preview pics tho.........
I dont know how to feel about them, cause this could be the LAST chapter or maybe they will continue. Whatever happens this chapter will be very interesting to discuss, cause it looked juicy

Shouldn't the series blurb be updated to say that it has over 50 million copies in circulation now? Pretty sure that Hakusensha noted that back in May as well.

I'm fairly certain there was an interview Miura did where he said the manga was more than half done, so I think the odds that he left an outline of how he wanted it to end are very decent. If it continues based on that, cool, if it doesn't, I understand.

I think they should release every chapter that Miura has at least storyboarded, but then they should stop there, Release the further story in like a new manga with a new creative team.

This would cement berserk as a Miura work, and the people who want the full story can follow the new manga.

Unfortunately I think Aortic Dissection is a very sudden death so I'm not sure if he kept chapters past this.

I actually quite like this idea

This is a surprise. I can understand if Miura worked on the chapter and they want fans to see it, but if it's something they want to continue without him then it wouldn't feel right. It's like when the anime caught up to the manga and the creator gives the anime staff outlines of the ending or next arc and they fill in the space between those points. Sometimes its good (Fullmetal Alchemist 2009 and Zetsuen no Tempest) and sometimes its bad (GANTZ). I just hope they do this in a respectful manner.

An alternative option if there are is not much to show, write a novel that finishes the story. Illustrate it with extra storybaords. Maybe later on you can properly adapt it into a seperate manga. Still does not hurt the legacy.

If there is a detailed outline, then I'm fine with them continuing it. Hopefully that is the case. If not, then I guess they can just publish Miura's general outline, interviews with his editor and assistants about where he told them it was going and maybe create some new concept art to go with it like a storybook and that would be cool. Maybe even Miura had some rough concept art done.
