Still doing well, Sonic 2 has legs. That's significant considering it's not a Marvel/DC/Disney property. Gotta make cash.

Sonic 2 will still be the most successful video game movie of 2022 & absolutely deserves to still be.

This is probably the end of the line for Sonic 2, mostly because it hits digital streaming platforms today (most notably Paramount Plus), but 7 weeks in the top 5, including 2 at #1, is both a testament to its success and a sign of how anemic the theater release schedule is.
Funny enough though, as per Forbes, Sonic 2 is not the highest-grossing video game adaptation of 2022. That would be Uncharted. (although Sonic 2 did better in the US and critically, so it evens out). |
