Reviews from those who've read the novels(all 5 volumes are available as fan-translated) say it's geared towards a romance ending, so anyone who might have expected a different take from My Friend's Little Sister Has It In for Me, sorry but you're out of luck.

It's a slow-burn take of a couple slowly growing closer.

The cast of the YouTube videos will also reprise their roles in the anime, according to the source tweet.

In before all the "how are you doing, step-sib?" jokes.

In all seriousness though, I've heard this is a very popular slice of life romcom, so I'm not surprised it's getting an anime adaption.

(But wow, Maaya Sakamaoto!?)

To be honest I didn't see a point if it wasn't a romance.

^^ Lots of good reasons, especially IRL, that this sort of situation wouldn't have to go that way and if so would be a refreshing narrative that could be really interesting because the situation is fraught with a lot of interpersonal pitfalls. But this from the country which originated the phrase "but we're not blood-related" so why would one expect anything different...?

I read some reviews where people descrive that the plot and the story become pretty repetitive and dull. I don't read, so don't know if it is true or not.

Thank you! That's what I get for looking at the romanized version of the names in the trailer, which just said Maaya Sakamoto / Ayu Suzuki incorrectly. The kanji in the video is correct. I've corrected the article, thanks again.
