Never even heard of this series until now and I got a few questions to anyone who knows about it

Is there any particular reason why this adaptation ended? Was it just a short story?

And should I give it a shot in terms of reading the manga and/or playing the game?

The game just announced it’s ending service the other day.
That’s why it’s ending.
