This is kinda concerning, they didn't mention which departments are affected but a new CEO might mean changes to Sentai's licensing and dubbing capacities.

I really miss when the company was ADV and put out consistently great dubs. Maybe they'll go back to that with new management, but I'm pretty sure I'm being overly optimistic.

Not until they read Sentai/HIDIVE's latest financial reports, at least?
Hope both are in the black and showing upticks in subscribers number.

That’s the problem. Linear TV use is way down, their big shows have ended, and AMC+ is not filling the hole.

Well, maybe the cuts are not only going to be on staff, AMC Networks needs money so likely adjusts will be made https://simplywall.st/stocks/us/media/nasdaq-amcx/amc-networks/news/heres-why-amc-networks-nasdaqamcx-is-weighed-down-by-its-deb/amp

I watch Interview with a Vampire streaming and a lot of both HIDIVE & Shudder. Hope neither of those services experience cuts.

So this can range from having no effect at all on Sentai, to it going to way of ADV? Or is it more nuanced than that.

They’re apparently restructuring their entire business according to the Hollywood Reporter.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/amc-networks-to-take-350m-475m-in-restructuring-charges-amid-layoffs-programming-impairments-1235273649/

No mention of Sentai or HIDIVE though. It looks like their main target is what’s being produced for their linear channel.

Oh cool. So Sentai will have to drop and sell their licenses to Crunchyroll so we can have more anime in one place again? I'm not complaining.
