I was wondering if they'd ever try for another live-action Mecha show after Mech X-4. This looks pretty fun!

I said it last week when I saw their teaser trailer, this needs to be graded on a massive curve because the Filipino film industry doesn’t have the experience, traditions, or budget of American or even Japanese film industries. So on that massive curve, this actually looks pretty good. I have no idea how the acting will be, but I have heard some cost saving ideas (apparently it’s 80 episodes five days a week but Beast Fighter battles will only be once or twice a week) so theoretically, they might just pull this off. I do know that Toei apparently had final say on the show and signed off on it, which actually does increase my hopes for it and a possible international release (which I bet would be Netflix).
I know Rawson Thurber and Bob Koplar are probably watching this now that Amazon is all in on making the Voltron movie. If Voltes can work on a rumored $18 million USD, they can make Voltron work with its presumed $100-$150 million USD. |

After seeing the original Voltes V last year, I'm really interested in seeing this. To me it actually looks surprisingly good for what it is.

Echoing what's already been said but this looks surprisingly good. I watch a lot of henshin hero tokustatsu stuff and keeping that in mind, I'd say the CG looks slightly better in quality compared to some of the more recent Super Sentai and Kamen Rider output. I may check this out if it gets an international release.

As a filipino the show is really good and feels promising. But i wont really expect that high enough since its heavily CGI and from that trailer they need to polish things more.
GMA Network has a lot of shows in the recent years that use CGI but some of it failed to impress the filipino audience since it just feels too budgeted and the work needs to be polished more. So in the end, some of the shows became memes to make fun of. So far the trailer (Its CGI) had a similar feel on the show they had before which is the remake of the local show Encantadia. |

I totally agree with you on this, because as a Filipino who has watched a few shows of GMA, their CGI usually.... as @Viren21 put it, some of it failed. BUT I am optimistic! I honestly thought that this was going to be aired last year, but the fact that they are, in a way, taking their time and going through the nitty gritty details... I am considering to watch the first few episodes. |

Everybody making this show sure looks like they're having a lot of fun. I've still never watched the anime, but every time I see a trailer for this live action version it makes me want to.

I think I realized why I'm so oddly optimistic for this show
It reminds me of the style in which the Space Battleship Yamato live action was done (with the CG style and the costume design) Having Toei on board makes for good reassurance as well. |

So the rumored live-action film's finally taking on a form. Know how much of a cultural icon Voltes is in the Philippines. Should be interesting to see their take on the mecha series.

I think it looks great. Anime AF.
The American remake would try to be too grounded and "realistic" but it looks like they're embracing the roots and just going for it. It looks wild, and hopefully we can watch it somewhere. |

It’s going to be years, best case scenario, before the Voltron movie comes out and we have something to compare it to. Although to be fair, every convention or conversation about that film is about wanting to resemble the anime (because the main producer was so infuriated by the Dreamworks show). They’re definitely embracing the original in a way a lot of Western productions would modify, that’s for sure. |

Supposedly, Voltes V: Legacy's cinematic experience will be shown in the Philippine's movie theaters on April 19 thru the 25th, then the TV series showing will happen after that, but no date for TV yet.
The Legacy's cinematic experience will be a condensed version with material from the first three weeks of the new TV series. Which may total 15 episodes. per GMA News Online |
