This is like the one game series that's never licensed and released outside of Japanese probably because how really Japanese it is. Isn't there an equivalent game that released here in North America though?

From what I've seen Momotaro Dentetsu looks like a train simulator mixed with Monopoly. Don't think there's a similar game like this outside of Japan.
About the game itself, the previous one Konami released on Switch became their biggest hit in Japan selling over 2 million copies, with the Switch having more users now I think this new entry can surpass it

Not exactly equivalent, but Itadaki Street, released under the name Fortune Street in North America, does have some big similarities.

Not a surprise considering it's one of the few non-1st party games to have been in the top 10 in sales in Japan for any significant length of time
