Great to have Mitsunaka back, although it's a bit worrisome that they'll have to wrap everything up with just one more movie. I wonder if they also got Takahiro Chiba to come back as chief animation director.

They have, in fact. I don't know why the article only highlights Mitsunaka's return when the staff is already listed in the trailer.

Woo-hoo, you're right, Chiba's back! I really shouldn't have stopped watching the video before the 1:26 mark.

Always glad to see more of this amazing series. I did laugh out loud at the key visual, like, "What is this Assassination Classroom bs?!" It's great.

The release date on this article is wrong. It's supposed to come out ten days earlier in 2024.

Can't wait to see this match animated! Even if it'll probably take forever for it to come out here.

Given this movie in particular has nothing saying "Final" in the title I'm actually hoping we're in some AoT-like situation where the "Final" just means they plan on eventually getting there, not necessarily during these two movies

Unless they announce a 3rd film, I just see no reason to be excited for this.

Why? This match will be great. I'm certainly excited to see it on the big screen. As for the later arcs, we'll get there when we get there.

Your best bet at getting a third film is to support this one, anyways.

I'm so excited to see this particular match animated, the manga made it so exciting and the build up to this was brilliant. Regardless of what happens later in the second movie this should be wonderful.

I can understand why some fans are so negative regarding the movies and along with them I'd have much preferred seasons and individual episodes but just being able to see the rest of this is great. I just can hope not too much is edited out due to time restraints.

Because there's too much material left to be squeezed into 2 movies. At least with a 3rd we'd then be a good bit closer to essentially a full 2 cours season of the anime, though that's with the assumption that these movies are going to be at least 2 hours long.

Aren't there just 2 matches and the epilogue? Hinata doing beach volleyball and returning to Japan can easily be done in a 15 minute sequence.

Karasuno vs Nekoma is 33 chapters in the manga, spoiler[vs Kamomedai] is 31 chapters and the final arc is another 30 including the beach story - For comparison, anime dedicated a whole season to the similar length Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa (39 chapters) at 10 episodes. It's hard to imagine so much in two movies, especially since as far as I know 2 hours runtimes are just wishful thinking. I'm expecting to get the bare minimum of spoiler[vs. Kamomedai], personally.

As nervous as I am about these movies I'm cautiously excited as well - vs Nekoma and the final arc are some of my favorite arc in Shonen Jump period. Fingers crossed they are adapted well.

A lot of those chapters are filler and can be done quickly when animated.
