I can see how reading off stats would grate in an audiobook. I'll note that Danmachi's an older series and earns its many, many volumes and side stories. |

Oh, it's cumbersome as hell in the So I'm a Spider, So What? audiobooks. Thankfully, DanMachi is nowhere near as bad on this, but it's still a legitimate negative that the series just can't avoid in audiobook format. As a big fan of the franchise since its inception, I still think most of the criticisms here are fair ones for reviewing it at this time. Though there are signs of what the series can achieve in the first volume, the cast and word-building aspects which make this one of the best fantasy franchises of the last decade do take a while to fully mature and the game stats element looks a lot less fresh in 2024 than it did when I read the first English-translated novel in late 2014. Sounds like they got a couple of the key VAs for the anime's English dub for the audiobook. I've taken a liking to using audiobook format on a second pass through novels I've read, so I may check this one out if it's available on Audible. |

I legit skip the stats reading in Spider now because dear lord I have gotten to the point where I just find htem boring. Danmachi Is on Audible I will look into once htey get in later books since I read 1-4.
