With this, the new Slayers and Eva, it looks like Megumi Hayashibara's career is undergoing a bit of a renaissance after seeming to disappear for much of the 00's. She seemed to be everywhere in the 90's.

Don't forget about her dual role in Paprika. Wink

Well, playing Musashi every single week on Pokémon would probably take a good chunk of your time away. Not to mention she had her first kid around 2004 and has probably spent most of her spare time raising her child. Still, it's nice to see Megumi make a comeback.

I guess she was always going to be tied to the lead role, seeing how that was going to be the case with the cancelled OVA. I like the design work, which looks reminiscent of what GONZO had planned (though I think that was always the case with the novel illustrations, IIRC). The same for the character designs, which may not be Range Murata's, but look quite good nonetheless. The one caveat I have is Conisch, who I hope has a bit more control over his compositions than he had in LINEBARRELS OF IRON (a GONZO series, the irony), despite it only being his second anime work. It was good, mind you, but it felt a little too wild at times due to what Kimlinger perfectly described as "messy eclecticism". Still, he has promise...
