This is such a absolute shame there is no English audio, as the second and third seasons of this show seem much better than the movie and first season. Oh well, what is done is done and probably won't be changed.
Great review though, just wish Sentai gave this a English audio this so deserves. |

The second season of this show is 10 years old at this point. Considering it sat for a DECADE, we're lucky we just got it at all. If it was continually passed over again and again, there was probably a good reason for it. If the show could have been dubbed profitably, ADV or Animeigo would have likely picked it up years ago.
And for a franchise not well known outside hardcore fans, it's really not that surprising that season 3 didn't get dubbed. You also have to factor in the retail situation as well. With Best Buy cutting back their anime orders and FYE closing stores left and right, they've already lost a lot of potential sales. I'd rather have a subtitled release than no release at all. |

I agree completly. Glad that some of them especially clannad is getting dubbed, but this is definately one series that should get one. Either way st least I still have the old eps that were dubbed which is still good and should hold me until Sentai does a dub version. |

get buying then, because they aren't going to dub something that doesn't sell well subbed. Didn't the original dubbing company never make money on the first series and broke even or lost money the entire time?

As much as I support legal purchasing of DVD's and other materials, even if people purchase this subtitled only DVD, there is absolutely no 100% guarantee that this DVD will receive an English audio if people continue to purchase this series. It's not that I don't understand the fact Sentai usually only does subtitle only, its just I won't spend money on a DVD that isn't in English. But that is just me and by no means does that represent anyone else. I am glad this series was licensed, but in my opinion, without an English audio, the situation hasn't really changed. Yes, its licensed, but there still isn't a English audio. But that is all right, just like Hare and Guu Finale, I never expected to finish up this series either. But, there is always the chance a decade or so this series may receive an English audio track. Only time will tell. |

I have to say that is strange Teriyaki, cause I know that you're watching some of the current shows in Japan, and those certainly don't have English audio.
I'd assume that someone who only supports English audio releases would abhor Japanese voices and not want to watch anything subbed. That said, I'm happy that Full Throttle has been released stateside and I'll definitely be picking it up at the next Sentai sale from Rightstuf. |

I had a feeling I would have to elaborate more. If a show is licensed but without an English audio, I probably won't watch the series. But if a series is unlicensed then subtitles are okay. Mind you, reading and watching isn't my favorite way to watch anime, its the only option I have if I want to check out new series. Since YUA third season is licensed, but doesn't have an English audio track, there really isn't any reason for me to watch this show. |

You do realize that YUA season 1 and the YUA: The Motion picture all had dubs. right? Also, AnimEigo dubbed the 1996 TV series. As I recall, it sold poorly on DVD, very poorly. It was so bad for AnimEigo that they choose not to license YUA: TMP and the 1999 TV specials. ADV instead choose to license them, had the same ADR studio "Costal Carolina" dub these titles and they still didn't sell well. So let my ask you a question: Do you want Section23/Sentai to waste time dubbing YUA 2000 and Full Throttle, by having to re contract Costal Studios again(who had shut down in November 2003 and just regrouped in December 2008?)? |
