I'd be way more interested in the upcoming anime feature if it was like this. Make Ashley the captain of the girl's basketball team, Legion is the blatant otaku, Miranda is the a cheerleader who is who's a closet otaku, Garrus is the class president, Wrex is the kid who looks like a delinquent but actually isn't, etc.

Put Rie Kugimya somewhere in there, let the voice of Squid Girl be Tali, and I'm sold.

Mass Effect would be better if it had a school setting

Eh, that's weird. Mass Effect is an adult-written series for adults. That's like watching a series like CSI in a school setting. Laughing

Well Persona is basically that.. though they were kids games in Japan and only rated M in the US.

Persona yes, I like Persona CSI. Laughing

But what I was more referring is generally kinda like written about adults for adults, as how adults would respond in the series. There's differences how adults would act and how youth characters would.

After the 2nd one bombed (not even the PS3 version outsold the 360 version in Japan). So I guess this and the anime in production is trying to get the bigger Japanese audience attention.

I would like a well a harem-genre for that one. Male Sheperd in high school with Ashley, Miranda, Liara, and Tali going after him. That would be my kind of Mass Effect anime.

For the cast you mention, I want Rie Kugimiya to voice Tali (if they can have the dub for the 3rd game for Japan, I would so want to hear that dub), Maaya Sakamoto for Liara, Jun Fukuyama for Joker, Daisuke Ono could maybe fit Garrus, Rikiya Koyama to voice Wrex, Koichi Yamadera for Grunt, Yumiko Shaku for EDI, For Sheperd:

Male: Takehito Koyasu
Female: Megumi Hayashibara

You think in this Mass Effect anime series maybe Shephard should switch between being male and female ala Ranma 1/2?

So, reading the translation on Crunchyroll, I'm amused by the fact that the Renegade option on the sample dialog wheel is, essentially, "Shepard Punches Someone in the Face"

I do hope Mass Effect 3 does well, as I really thing that the Mass Effect series is a Western RPG series that Japanese fans might actually like, if they just gave it a shot.

I do kind of wonder, if The Witcher 2 gets a PS3 release, how it might do in Japan.
