Man the designs are dumb for an anime series but dammit I may actually watch it because at least they are giving some love to my favorite Autobot Bluestreak. He has been my favorite Autobot since I first watched G1 so any love for him is awesome in my book.

Wait? Transformers are coming out with two new animated series at the same time? Granted one is US and one is Japan.

Is this Japanese one suppose CGI or cartoon? The opening is CGI but the characters below are cartoon.

Another thing with simple character design is this suppose to be some kind of now toyline or kids game tie in? Makes me think of Bakugan.

Is there any chance for this particular Transformers anime to get a US release (as in Shout Factory getting this), or will this be a Japan-exclusive show with no chance of a US release?

This is based on the new QTransformers toys, which are super-deformed versions of Transformers characters. There are some G1 characters such as Sideswipe and Prowl along with characters from other versions of the franchise. This is a spinoff from Takara's Choro-Q line of super-deformed cars, which were in turn the alt modes of the original G1 mini-cars such as Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. (Some Choro-Q toys were released in the US as Penny Racers.)

I hope these designs are just for the opening sequence and not the actual show. If it is, this is Japan's equivalent to Transformers Animated or the TF equivalent to SD Gundam.

Thank God Optimus Prime doesn't have flames and is instead given red stripes. That's the only good thing. F*ck you, Michael Bay!!

More like SD Gundam Force I suppose if you were to compare it to anything.

Also, Japan is getting the new US series (RID 2015) as well.

Regardless of what you think of the movies, they are the most financially successful of anime series getting live-action adaptations. I think that should account for something.

What's your point? They're still sh*t. What I don't get is, why do people go to watch movies they know are sh*t? Why do people partake in this stupid thing called 'hate-watching'?

You think that the films are crap but I really enjoyed the 1st movie. A reason why people might go see movies that they hate is to further have things to rant about.

Sounds like a pointless endeavor. But of course it made big money because like any major catastrophe, people have a weird morbid thing about going out and looking at roadkill.

The sad thing is that the people on the Transformers websites are actually excited for this...

People don't watch the live action Transformers movies for the plot. They watch it for the ride. For me they are the kind of movie you only need to see once might was well pay for a theater set with pop corn and soda because that's the kind of movie is it.

The episode length for Q Transformers is 5 minutes a piece. The series itself is just being made in promotion of a side toyline, which is a crossover between Tomy's Choro Q and Transformers. If we don't get the toys there's no real reason for us to get this, as I doubt it'll have enough meat on its bones to stand as a product people would want to buy.
