I think it is kind of disrespect not to include Ichiro Nagai, one of the great voice actors:

Uh, ANN you think you can update the list to include Ichiro Nagai also.

So many iconic actors we have lost in 2014; may they all rest in peace.

Whenever I see these lists, I'm always a little taken aback by how long they are. Some escaped my noticed and a some I'd forgotten about. There ended up being a lot of much worse things to worry about this year.

The death of Robin Williams is the one that I notice the most because of its circumstances and how other many other deaths are, to say nothing of will be, reflected in it.

I believe Arthur Rankin Jr. also deserves an honorable mention - he is best known for his many animated productions from "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" to "Thundercats", but this guy (alongside his partner Jules Bass) practically invented sub-contracting animation jobs to Japanese studios, and he played an important role in nurturing the post-war generation of Japanese animators, including those who will later form the backbone of Studio Ghibli and Walt Disney Japan (Jonathan Clements' excellent book "Anime: A History" has a very detailed chapter on the subject). Rankin passed away on January 30 2014:

How is the Robin Williams listing only naming some things he's a fan of while forgetting that he did promotional videos for the Legend of Zelda?

Oh, yes, 2014 is indeed the year of death involving seiyuu from both sides of the Pacific... Sad
While they may be no longer on Earth, their will forever remain immortal through their works.

For me, it hits when I check their biography of the works they've dubbed, and if it was a role in a show I've seen before I feel "damn. I won't be able to hear that voice in any new works".

Man, we lost a lot of great people this year anime or otherwise. Sad

For me the one that really came out of nowhere was Christine Cavanaugh, the voice of Dexter (Dexter's Laboratory), Chuckie (Rugrats), and Babe (Babe). Would she count since she voiced Bunnie Rabbot in Sonic the Hedgehog (the cartoon)? Although I hate how all you hear about for these lists are the people left out.
