Then writing is on the wall, can we have NOW all noteworthy manga translated and in the web like we have said anime in cruncy, funi, daisuki, etc? or are we going to get in 2015 all the same sob, sob, piracy ate my homework, sob, sob?

Thank goodness, I like reading manga on a tablet and with Japan entering the e-book era, we'll get better software to read them on in the long run.

My only issue with digital manga is whenever I zoom in on the miniature hiragana characters that translate kanji characters, it sometimes looks like a crappy mosaic.

This. I know some services offer their content is high enough resolution so it won't be an issue, but there are a lot of others who provide SD versions of the mangas, making quite difficult to read the small rubis and text bubbles |

If they really wanted, they could offer text as an overlay (just as subtitles for anime) so that no matter the zoom, it would be rendered to suit your specific screen. |

That would be pretty slick and would also allow multiple languages on the same content, but it's a lot of work not just for the software but for the production process as well. They should just use higher resolution and that way the images themselves would also look good on zoom. |

Is this including Light Novels? If so I didn't realize it's share was that small considering how much anime has been strip mining it of late. I swear more generic light novels get adapted for late night anime than manga at this point.

They strip mine them to get quick money, problem is, that they aren't considering the fact that studios need to adapt a wide variety of LNs to be successful instead of almost all standard garbage LNs and it's the reason few of these anime even sell now or are even good (I dropped all of the LN adaptations this season, they are getting worse and worse as time goes by). I want to see more good LNs being adapted. |

Working with scans of stuff, 3000px vertical should be the lower limit for professional releases. No detail is missed at that size and editing is easier.
I've seen the idea pop up before, and I guess it could work as some sort of limited program that mimics psds with layers, allow you to toggle them on and off. Wouldn't work as simple image files, so you'd need a proprietary build. Translated or not, having high quality digital raws available would be a boon to getting some harder to come by manga scanlated. |

This is interesting and all that. However, my question is the reciprocal of this. What percentage of the manga market is digital? This is expressed in terms of money spent which would be interesting. Also how much of the manga market is digital only?
