So I'm guessing we'll never get the character commentaries on the Monogatari series releases ever again??

Was reverse importation a huge problem with the first set? =/

I think it would be very, very, VERY difficult to dub the Monogatari Series, similar to how it would be nearly impossible to dub Zetsubou Sensei.

If you ask me both highly needed it. (Though Zetsubou Sensei is never going to happen) They're both very text heavy and full of dialogue. I can't read the subtitles, and the text on screen at the same time. And if it has to do with cultural references; anyone who's watching Monogatari should have some understanding of Japanese Culture, and if not, It won't hurt to start learning. IMO

Wow I've got to say I'm impressed, I didn't think AoA had the guts to give Your Lie In April an English dub. That's very good news for anyone hoping it would happen and I'll be interested to see how decent it turns out as well.

It's funny really as, after reading the news and being disappointed by the English dub recasts in UBW. I was going to offer a sarcastic comment that, if by some miracle YLiA got an English dub, Aniplex would probably lazily cast Bryce Papenbrook in the role of the MC (i.e. Kōsei) again. (You know because apparently no one else is capable of voicing a teenage male lead these days). Now I'm praying that really doesn't happen, I mean seriously Aniplex don't ruin a potentially good thing here.

Glad we've got a release date for Tsukimonogatari, though I'm not too surprised that September 15th is when it will drop. I had it down for around Sept 1st, considering most of the Monogatari arcs have come out about 6 months after the Japanese releases.

It's not just cultural references, Monogatari has a lot of word play that would be very hard to/wouldn't translate well.

Monogatari dub won't happen for a series of reasons:
1. It would be expensive, since there's a lot of talking.
2. It would be very difficult because of all the puns, inuendos, double-meanings, cultural references.
3. It would be pointless, since there'd still be a tone of on screen text.

Same for Zetsubou.

Don't care for the dub announcement for Your Lie in April but pleased for others who wanted one. I just want to know the all important release details. It needs gorgeous sets and Aniplex do that better than anyone else.

Also come on Aniplex, where's the Mekakucity Actors news?

Anyway Tsukimonogatari, should be with us in UK sometime next year then? MVM usually release a few months after the US.

You're Lie in April is one of many shows that I had interest in watching for ages. Now that it's going to be dubbed, I'll be adding it to my "Want To Watch" list. Smile

I've watched all but four episode of You Lie in April and I'm pretty much done with the show as I've seen enough. I'm flabbergasted that it's getting a dub, mostly because what AoA could do with it. Remind me, AoA is the company trying to sell sub only singles of Nisekoi, right and it's NIS who just did a complete dub set for A Lull in the Sea?

Nothing makes sense anymore.

Dubbed Bakemonogatari? If it was affordable, I'd buy it.

Seeing Bakemonogatari constantly being relegated to the sub-only shelf for ages makes me wonder if Aniplex will ever get around to making an English version for it.

I've actually been wanting a role in an English dub for Your Lie in April, and I see there's auditions for it! ....At Anime Expo, which is in Los Angeles, which is in California, not the state I live in....

Life, I officially hate you.

One guess as to why Kate Higgins was replaced a few times is that she and her husband own a We Rock the Spectrum Kids Fitness Gym in Woodland Hills. While she still does her most noted role, Sakura, my guess is that a lot of her time is given on her two young kids and running this gym.
