Maybe now we'll finally get an epic plot. G has been sorely lacking one compared to all the previous series.

If by "epic", you mean completely made up and tacked on just to create superficial, spur-of-the-moment drama, then I hope that doesn't happen. I felt that by "Legion Mate-hen" (which was really just "Link Joker-hen part 2") they had essentially run out of ideas. Among other things, certain "rules" to the card game (in the show) felt made up just for the show just to create drama and tension, then incorporated into the card game after the fact. I also felt they were resorting to any reason to keep the invasion plot going, among other things.

I'm hoping that "G" will be a new start for the franchise, but at this point, I'm starting to wonder. I'll be direct, if this ends up being in the same continuity (which ends with:

spoiler[Everyone carrying piece of Link Joker within them (i.e., since Link Joker apparently can't be truly "defeated").])

I'm dropping this show. Now while it's true that Link Joker appeared in "G" (as just a card deck), that could mean anything. In any event, I'm hoping that this show can we be watched standalone (i.e., separately from the previous four series). Heck, even if this show does feature Aichi eventually, I'm kind of hoping this will be an alternate "second season" to the first series, if anything. In any case, we'll see what happens.
