Japan had lost another one of their most talented manga artists. Crying or Very sad

May we wish the late Mr. Mizuki a nice afterlife!

Here was a man who truly lived a very full life indeed. And got the memorial that focused on his long career as a manga-ka and even his World War II military service.

He had the courage to make his life count by writing and making appearances to educate the young. A shame he did not have more years to continue his more important contributions.

I wonder what his secrets were to have lived such a long life. Regardless, may his death have been peaceful.

The funeral should tell you what kind of man this was, a great man. Respected and loved, but will be missed dearly.

His smile reminded me one of my late grandfather's. It saddens that we are losing people that can talk to the newer generations about wars, in order to avoid them in the present and in the future. Sad
In the case of S. Mizuki, at least, we have his precious works left.

If the funeral is anything to go by,Shigeru Mizuki had a great life. The only guy who comes close to Mizuki in this country is "Peanuts" creator Charles Schultz, who he probably will see waiting for him at the Pearly Gates.

R.I.P. Shigeru Mizuki. You'll soon be among your fellow legends from around the world.
