Otakon 2013 Closing Ceremonies

The closing ceremonies got off to a late start to a completely packed and very lively audience. Con chair Terry Chu kicked off the opening ceremonies by thanking the attendees for coming. He then revealed an unconfirmed preliminary attendance number: 34,892. Chu said that as of the first day of the con on Friday, they had broken last year's numbers. Chu then asked Otakon staff members to stand and be recognized.
Otakon then revealed the winners of its AMV contest. The winners are as follows:
First Place: Corsair AMV – Dora the Explorer – “Dora the Explorer (trailer audio)” by College Humor – Various
Second Place: Hagaren Viper – Soul Hunters – “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (trailer audio)” by Paramount Pictures – Soul Eater

Iron Editor Winner: KireBlue using the theme “Epic Confrontation.” The sources for the contest were: Fairy Tail: Priestess of the Phoenix, Redline, The Garden of Sinners, Hellsing Ultimate, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and the secret source was Attack on Titan.
Otakon staff then played a video to announce its various variety show, video game, cosplay, and model winners, and also played a video reel of highlights from the convention. Next the staff gave some information about Otakon Vegas. Registration is available now, and Otakon Vegas will feature a sumo demonstration.
Otakorp Inc. president Andrew Earnhardt then announced that Otakon will be moving to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. in 2017. Earnhardt said that the move was needed because the Baltimore Convention Center could no longer house the amount of attendees Otakon gets each year.
Todd Haberkorn then came on stage to give away his “Crabby” crab plush toy to an audience member
