posted on by Egan Loo

The "Moment Ring" CD single by Love Live! School idol project idol unit μ's sold 16,799 copies in its second week, and it ranked #5 on the Oricon singles chart for the week of March 7-13. The single now has a total of 113,278 copies sold, and thus earned the Golden Disc certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

The single, which shipped on March 2, had the highest first-week sales in the franchise's history, ranking at #2 in its first week with 96,479 copies. The CD outsold the previous record holder, "Boku-tachi wa Hitotsu no Hikari"/"Future Style," which shipped 96,150 copies last July with songs from the Love Live! The School Idol Movie anime film.

The new single also tied the franchise record for the highest ranking in a single's first week. "Moment Ring" ranked #2 on the daily Oricon singles charts with 35,099 CDs sold on March 1.

The "Moment Ring" single is being marketed as the group's "final single." The single contains the title song, as well as the song "Sayōnara e Sayonara," and instrumental versions of both songs.
