Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ Visual Novel Released on Steam

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Visual novel publisher Visual Art's announced on Tuesday that it has released Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ visual novel in English on PC via Steam. The game is currently discounted until the end of the day on Friday.

Visual Art's added the game to Steam's Greenlight program in April. Under the Steam Greenlight program, developers advertise their game or software, and community support decides which titles will be selected for distribution.

The company describes the game as follows:

One day Tomoyo's brother, Takafumi, brings his father's illegitimate child, Tomo, to Tomoya's apartment.
Tomo had been abandoned by her mother, and Tomoya and Tomoyo reluctantly decide they would look after her.
Furthermore, Takafumi's ex-girlfriend, Kanako, ran away from her home just before the start of summer vacation.
She too ends up staying in Tomoya's room.

Tomoya, Tomoyo, Tomo, Takafumi, Kanako.
And so begins the first and the last summer these five people will spend together.

VisualArt's announced in October that it planned to release the visual novel officially in English. The publisher added at the time that the release would base its translations on fan translations, but some parts would be modified and re-translated.

Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ is a spinoff of the earlier Clannad visual novel, which inspired both an anime and a manga. Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ centers on the character Tomoyo, and it itself inspired a manga by Yukiko Sumiyoshi. The game was ported to such systems as the PlayStation 3.
