Kozueko Morimoto's Ashi-Girl Manga to Have 'Important Announcement' Next Month

posted on by Karen Ressler

Shueisha's preview for the July issue of its Cocohana magazine revealed on Friday that the issue will have an "important announcement" for Kozueko Morimoto's Ashi-Girl manga. The issue will ship on May 27 and it will feature Ashi-Girl on the cover.

In the story, 16-year-old Yui Hayakawa is prone to being late, losing things, and dozing off, and she has no interest in love or style. One day she accidentally activates a time machine her younger brother Takeru invented and finds herself in the Sengoku Period.

Morimoto launched the manga in the inaugural issue of Cocohana in November 2011. Shueisha published the eighth compiled volume on December 22.

Morimoto's Kōdai-ke no Hitobito manga inspired a live-action film last May. The manga serialized in Shueisha's Monthly You from February 2013 to March 2017.

Morimoto's Gokusen manga has also received multiple live-action adaptations, including three television series in 2002, 2005, and 2008; two live-action television special in 2003 and in 2009; and a live-action film in July 2009. The manga also inspired a 13-episode TV anime series in 2004. Media Blasters released the anime in North America from 2004 to 2005.
