Shonen Sunday: Look Forward to Fullmetal Alchemist/Silver Spoon Creator Hiromu Arakawa's New Story

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

This year's 52nd issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine asked fans on Wednesday to "look forward to a new story by creator Hiromu Arakawa."

The same issue also published the final chapter of Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga. The manga's 15th and final compiled book volume will ship on February 18.

Arakawa created Fullmetal Alchemist before penning Silver Spoon. Yen Press licensed Silver Spoon for North America. The manga won 2012's Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) and Booklog awards, and 2013's Shogakukan Manga Awards in the boys' category.

The first Silver Spoon anime season based on the manga aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina late-night programming block in July 2013, and the second season premiered in January 2014. Aniplex USA released both seasons on home video, and Crunchyroll streamed both seasons of the anime. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in March 2014.
