Plot Summary: Once upon a time, on a New Year's Eve, an old man gave his umbrella ('kasa' in Japanese) to a jizou (a statue of an ancient Japanese god) standing in a heavy snow. And the jizou appreciated him so much that he gave him and his old wife rice and fish to celebrate a happy new year. It has been a long time since then, and the jizou has been forgotten.
