A little over 4 minutes into the first episode, Dokuro-chan flashes a few manga pages at Sakura. Two of them feature obvious references to Urusei Yatsura and Doraemon.
Dokuro-chan's pillow at the start of episode 4 is covered with various depictions of sexual positions.
In the second half of episode 3, while Sakura and Dokuro-chan are walking through the woods, Sakura begins to insist that all kind of scary things must really exist if angels do. As he starts to give examples of what some of these things could be, characters from Doraemon, One Piece, Nurse Witch Komugi-chan and Howl's Moving Castle appear as he describes creatures resembling them.
Dokuro-chan's name means "skull" in English
