First Look: Yoshitaka Amano's Deva Zan

by Zac Bertschy, Jan 2nd 2013

Coming later this January from Dark Horse, Yoshitaka Amano's Deva Zan is his first fantasy novel and his first published work where the world-famous artist also handled writing duties. Boasting over 200 illustrations, Deva Zan chronicles the mission of an amnesiac samurai who is the only thing standing in the way of the forces of darkness. Thanks to the book's dimension-hopping narrative, Amano illustrates a wild variety of imaginative fantasy landscapes and concepts.

"Dark Horse has the honor to publish Deva Zan, Yoshitaka Amano's first fantasy novel as an author as well as an illustrator! After an epic ten years of planning, Amano has made Deva Zan his personal expression of the legends of Asia for his Western readership." says Aub Driver, publicity coordinator for Dark Horse.

Here's our exclusive sneak peek at some pages from Amano's latest work.
