Manga Factory Launches Japan Tour Company

posted on by Gia Manry
1st tour set for middle of September

Manga Factory, a new American manga publisher established by former employees of Japanese-owned Aurora Publishing, has launched a website for its new endeavor, Manga Factory Tours.

The company's first tour of Japan is called the "Escape to Tokyo Tour" and runs from September 13 to 20. The tour was "designed for the ladies," according to the new website, "although guys are welcome, too." The tour's events include the Tokyo Game Show, a visit to a host club, shopping in Shibuya and Harajuku, a cosplay photo shoot, and a cosplay dance party. Optional activities include visits to a Takarazuka show and the Ghibli Museum.

No price has been announced for the tour at this time. Those visiting the website can currently sign up to be put on an email list or can contact the company directly via online form, but sign-ups for the tour itself have not yet launched.

Manga Factory announced its presence as a new publisher on June 27, and is currently selling a stock of books from Aurora Publishing. The company also exhibited at Anime Expo from July 1 to 4. Last month, Manga Factory clarified that it has no access to Aurora licenses and is only selling stock that it had purchased as a hold-over until the publisher could announce its own licenses and other plans later.
