Crypton Future Media's character to share "photoshoot" with real-life Risa Yoshiki

The virtual idol singer Hatsune Miku will appear in a "photoshoot" in this year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Playboy magazine next Monday, March 28. (Weekly Playboy magazine shares the trademark of Hugh Hefner's American Playboy magazine but publishes its own, less explicit content.) The appearance is a collaboration with real-life idol Risa Yoshiki, who confirmed the upcoming feature via her Twitter account. The illustrator "bob" is drawing an image of Hatsune Miku that will share the photoshoot with Yoshiki.

Crypton Future Media created Hatsune Miku to personify its software package that allow users to synthesize vocal songs without a human singer. Crypton Future Media has since expanded its lineup with other characters, and other companies have used the underlying Vocaloid software engine from YAMAHA to offer other character voice software packages.

The cover model on the next issue of Weekly Playboy magazine will be actress Yuriko Yoshitaka (live-action Gantz films). A promotional video for the Hatsune Miku/Risa Yoshiki collaboration is slated to debut on the magazine's website.
